Dear Suzanne, Welcome to this board. My son is also 5 with an advanced bone age of 9. He is a severe salt waster and was diagnosed shortly after birth. My son's bone age had advance because his meds hadn't kept him in good control. He was going into puberty and had developed severe body odor. The only program that I know of in the USA to try to correct this problem is run by Dr. New in New York City. She uses growth hormone injections on a daily basis and monitors the growth regularly. She uses lupron if the child is in puberty in order to retart the completion of puberty and hence the bone fusion that takes place shortly after. Once the bones have fused, no more growth can happen. The longer she delays puberty, the longer she has to try to recapture some of the lost growth. This program is still categorized as a trial study. It would be worth giving her a call. You can reach her by going to the top of this thread and clicking on people. Then click on Dr. New and you can read some information about her and her work. If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to email me. Good luck.
