My CAH child is a male, not a female, so luckily we do not have to face the difficult, and obviously sensitive, issue of surgery. I would like to say, however, that with many (if not most) physicians here in the States pressed for time and money, and fearful of political and legal fallout, it is extremely refreshing to hear the point of view of an MD willing to speak out publicly on an obviously controversial issue (perhaps it's the very fact that you are NOT here in the US that affords you that freedom?!!). 

I have the luxury of not having any personal stake in the issue, but from the sidelines, the opinion of a surgeon advocating AGAINST surgery brings with it a certain measure of objectivity.  Thank you for your informative post, and for taking the time to reach out to complete strangers.
