Kay, this is the same understanding I have had.  My 9 yr old CAH Salt-wasting daughter has never been interested in dolls, like yours is more interested in legos, science and math.  She is somewhat of a tom-boy type, however, she "runs like a girl" did not get any masculin athletic abilities..., she totally identifies with being a girl, but has a huge amount of boy friends at school plays equally well with boys and girls.  I always thought this might be an advantage to her, the testostorone wash in the brain. She has amazing spacial skills.
