Well said Danny, and boy do both of my children love to read those chapter books. As a matter of fact, one of my daughter's very best friends (5 years old) had a birthday party with the Little House" theme. I was just talking to a very, very good friend of mine about finding the gifts that we have been given even when what we have been given may seem totally overwhelming. In my own (non CAH) daughter I can see a compassionate, empathetic and caring young individual developing due to the fact that she watches out for her brother. Her brother, in return, protects her as a lioness would protect her cubs. Don't get me wrong, they have their moments as any child does, but the bond that they have received due to this disorder is something I have yet to see in any of my 25 neices and nephews combined. I wouldn't trade for anything in the world, but I would like to see better treatment for our little angels. When I was in the hospital with my son, over a 28 day period 5 new born babies died right there in front of me. There was also a child that sufferred from cystic fibrosis. I can tell you that, as God as my witness, if I was offered a cure for my son, or a cure for that baby, I would give it to the baby with the cystic fibrosis. CAH is very managable if treated properly. It is actually one of the more treatable genetic disorders that there are. God bless our little angels.
