I wondered because when my daughter was sick with a cold virus last week the doctor on call was hesitant to give her some over the counter meds. My regular pediatrician was on vacation (of course) and he is fairly new. I thought that the basic theory was that Cortef is a drug we give our kids that is only replacing what the body lacks. I would like to clarify this so the next time they give me a nurse on call I can assure them it is ok. I had an over the counter med. that required your pediatrician to decide the dose to give to a child under 6 years. Can anyone shed light on this for me?
