JoanWCarol,
Vindicated at last! The PUB-MED article "Variable efficacy of glucocorticoids in congenital adrenal hyperplasia" located at: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov:80/entrez/query.fcgi?cmd=Retrieve&db=PubMed&list_uids=934750&dopt=Abstract confirms what you have been trying to tell everyone (including me) all along: "The potency of dexamethasone in suppressing adrenal function was 80 times that of cortisol" - not the 40x that is commonly listed in tables of relative glucocorticoid potencies.
Joan
PS: Thank you again Laura, and Carol, Janet and Chris for your kind words.
