CAH girls can get pregnant and the cortef does not hurt the baby.  Cortef is a natural hormone that will not hurt the baby.  Her children will not CAH unless she marries or has a child with a man who has the gene (carrier) for CAH.

My husband and I are carriers of the gene for CAH and that is why I would take dex to prevent the baby (if it is a girl) from needing surgery because of too much male hormone. A CAH child that is not taking cortef will have too much male hormones. It is a one in four chances of having another child with CAH. It can be tested (genetic test) while pregnant. If the baby does not have CAH or if it is a boy, then the mother can stop taking the Dex (it is like cortef).
