I am a healthcare provider from Massachusetts active in emotional support for people who have had losses related to their childbearing lives. One of my most valuable resources is a website reached at www.hygeia.org. The originator of this site is              Dr. Michael R.Berman, an Ob/Gyn from Connecticut with incredible compassion for those who have suffered losses at various stages of parenthood. Not only has he recently published a book full of unbelievably emotional and soul soothing stories, poetry and thoughts, but he has also set up areas across the nation where women without the financial ability to seek internet access to support sites can do so. He has also been recognized worldwide for his efforts in this area. While my research of "hygeia" does not result in any definite CAH connections, there are many stories to be told and heard and you are welcome to share yours as well. It is a very satisfying outlet for many people. The variety of experiences is incredibly diverse and I feel that there is a need for some of your stories to be told here. While you may not have a direct link with someone on the site, there is a common thread- loss of a child- some before birth, some after.                         I hope this information will be of some help to you. I have worked with many parents who have suffered losses and I cannot tell you how much my heart breaks with each new story. And while I am not a regular to this website (and therefore don't know all of your stories of loss)  I AM a regular to the pain that each loss brings. Please know that a bit of my heart is with each one who has lost part of theirs.

I wish I had the ability to communicate with all those whose stories touch me, but since I don't, I encourage you to go to hygeia and if you find it helpful, please pass the information on to others.

I lit a candle tonight. My thoughts are with all whose pain is far more enormous than most of us will ever know.

May peac find you.
