Re: How are the kids that are getting the growth hormone shots doing?

Ryan is doing well Laura, thanks for asking. His levels are still a little bit off (I have come to know the signs like a pro at this point) but are on their way to a good place. I think that the problem with his CAH level is not necessarily due to the Growth Hormone (GH)per se, but rather to the fact that it encourages the body to grow more rapidly. This then causes, like most CAH children, the need to increase his dose due to a larger body mass. So far this is the only relationship I have been able to detect directly relating the GH to his OHP levels. It is a good question though. Has anyone else who is on the GH program with Dr. New needed to increase their childs dose? If so, how much and why? I would be very interested to hear anyone else's point of view via email or post. Thanks again Laura. BTW, how is your daughter doing with her flu shot today? I'm sorry to hear she wasn't feeling well. I have been away this weekend and just got back and saw your post. I hope she is feeling better by now. Neither of my children have ever had a reaction to any of their vaccinations (knock wood)and they have been getting them for 4 years now. I can't be of any help to you on this one - sorry.
