My husbands insurance recently changed to an HMO from private, so I understand your concerns.  Thank goodness, my son's drs are in the network.  From a paperwork standpoint it has really helped us.  We have no forms to submit and because the dr's are in the network our visits are covered 100% and are not charged discounts.  It has saved us quite a bit of money.  We have not had any hospitalizations to contend with, thank goodness.

The only problem we have had so far is regarding my son's cortef tabs.  They will only dispense a 30 day supply every 30 days and I worry about what if I need to double or triple his dose.  My dr says he will write another prescription if we get in a spot.

I hope this was helpful.
