As I mentioned in my earlier post, Lupron is used for infertility treatment, more specifically invetro fertilization. It comes into play when the doctors need to STOP the woman's cycle all together and put her into a temporary menopausal state. They do this so that they can be assured that they are in complete control of the ovulation cycle. If the body ovulates on it's own, the risk of missing the eggs is too great so they may cancel the proceedure. They first put the body into menopause and then stimulate it to produce a large amount of eggs. When the time is right, an injection of HCG is given and the eggs are harvested within 24 hours. If all goes well a child is conceived (sometimes more). Somepeople choose to do this proceedure without the Lupron due to its high cost. This then puts the proceedure success factor at a much higher risk. You would be doing someone a great service. God bless you from someone who has "been there, done that"!
