We, too live in an extremely dry climate. In the winter my hands actually get deep cracks, from washing my hands so much, that wouldn't go away. My step mother introduced me to the wonders of Bag Balm. I use it on hands and feet and it works wonders and helps cracks heal much faster. hope this helps. julia
