I went to dinner on xmas day with my husband of three years.  His family lives 100 miles away.  My CAH daugher almost 18 years old did not want to go, she spent the day with her older brothers.  I called home to check on her and she said she was sick and had a 103 fever.  I immedicatley grabbed my things and said good bye, But my husband and his family wanted to eat dinner first, his family acted like I was out of my mind wanting to leave immediatley to get home FAST.  I don't know why some people don't get it, even my husband who has been to the hospital and has seen her get sick, can be so ignorant and selfish.  I am very upset and I have little tollerance for getting a pat on the head and being told I am just over reacting when I know that a little fever can take my daughters life.  Thanks for listening... I know some people really do understand.
