Your second posting makes a lot of sense to me; a glucose test IS much quicker than waiting for the lab results. I would imagine, though, that in order for the blood glucose level to be significantly low, other signs of adrenal crisis would be already have been present?? Hopefully, if this is so, the child has already been given a shot of solu -cortef, and perhaps has an IV started. I have lost a CAH child, too, and I guess with something like glucose, it's worth a shot - giving a tablet definately wouldn't hurt them. Hmm ... I'm going to question my endo on this further!!
