Just had to post a frustrating ER visit....you know what I'm talking about. Christina (6 yrs) woke up this morning with a 103 fever...sore throat...didn't want to drink anything...tried to take her morning dose & motrin...which she threw up. We called her reg ped... who told us to go straight to the hospital and "don't worry....I'll call ahead and explain everything...". *sigh*......it was so frustrating....I was treated like the overstressed mom who was just upset that her child had flu-like symptoms. I remained calm....I never raised my voice...I never was angry....I simply kept saying, 'she needs fluids & solu-cortef..." I was finally getting ready to give her the shot from our own emergency kit myself. FINALLY they had her on fluids......and a shot of solu-cortef (which *I* should have done at home...) ......she never needed tylenol or motrin....she JUST NEEDED FLUIDS......then they were so thrilled to see how "perky" she got after the fluids....did they want to write it in their flippin' files that she didn't receive any Motrin or Tylenol?....she began recovering once she had loads of fluids I insisted upon? I tried to tell them "look, I'm not here because she's just sick....I'm here because she needs fluids which I can't give her at home!" Her endo drove to the hospital to check on her....and tell them what to do and set them straight...we just adore that man. She's better....we're home.....and I'm so glad I have *you guys* to vent to.... Thanks forever..... :)Kare
