We had our Endo do  "Emergency Instructions" which tells the ER how to handle most scenarios (I.E. vomiting, surgery, broken bones)  We carry this with us wherever we go and it has worked great the times we have used it.  It tells them to immediately start IV and do Chem-7, Solu-Cortef, etc.
