Kare - I just got back from the hospital yesterday with my 9 year old son who has salt loosing CAH.  I get treated the same way when I go to the hospital...like an over reacting mom.  GEEZ...I emphathize with you completely.  I just found this board this AM after searching on the internet. 

My son was diagnosed with CAH at 9 days old when he almost died.  Since that time he's been back to hospital about 4 times..always for flu...and he needs hydrating..and IV meds until he can keep them down.  Seems so easy...and very simple but they just never seem to get it.  When he starts feeling better they take him off IV and start his oral meds...I would not let them take out his IV hook up..just in case they needed to re-connect the bag..which they did but they wanted to send him home after his first oral dose..I told them NO way...I wanted him to be on oral meds for 24 hours prior to taking him home.  They constantly get his "stress dosage" wrong..and I have to explain to them every time.  Wears me out...but I don't back down one little bit.
