I am confused!!!

Hi Heather,

Welcome to this board.  The people here are great and have helped me so much since I've come here.  I am just a little confused over some of the posts.  I have two daughters that have CAH.  My oldest is 10 and was finally diagnosed at 9 due to the wonderful doctor I got rid of.  She started getting pubic hair at age 5 and every illness under the sun.  It wasn't until I found a new pediatrician that she picked up on it immediately. She is now on Cortef and needs stressed in times of illness and so forth.

They tested my second daughter who is 8 and said she had some abnormal levels, two I believe.  She had a normal bone age and my endo dosen't think she needs treated at this point.  She does a bone age and examination on her every four months.   She didn't even administer the ATCH (sp) test on her.  She said at this point suppressing the adrenal glands may pose more of a risk . She always recovers from illness such as colds, flus, and she has even had pneumonia a few times.  The only outward signs she has is underarm odor.

Now I am starting to wonder.  Maybe it depends on how much their levels are off and which ones?? I am new to this too.  It's only been a year for me.  Hopefully some one can enlighten me also.

Good luck,

Michele
