Without a doubt, I become very anxious during the cold and flu season! My fear is not in the exposing, but letting my daughter out of my sight when she's not feeling well. She stays home from nursery school with the slightest cold, and I will cancel my appointments rather than leave my daughter with my husband. I babysit everyday, so we all are exposed to kid's cold germs. I'm quite strict with the mothers about runny noses, etc-but the germs are there even before symptoms sometimes. One mother knowingly sent her child to nursery school with the chicken pox, (exposed by a sibling), and my daughter became quite ill even though she had the vaccination. She missed 2 weeks of school, and it was a scarey time. But, as I gain experience in handling her illnesses, and administering the injection, I am less anxious. Knock on wood, she has not been sick this season yet! This is a good subject! I know I am not alone in my anxieties!Pamela
