Heather, if your child has CAH, she should be taking some kind of replacement for the Cortisol she is not producing. This could be very serious if she became ill or injured, not to mention the effects it is having on her growth potential. As for the bleeding, precocious puberty if a definite possibility. My own daughter was diagnosed with it. It is a condition that is sometimes secondary to the CAH and, in fact, has nothing to do with whether or not the CAH is being treated/under control. It sounds to me like you may have two separate conditions here (as we do with my daughter) - CAH and Precocious Puberty. They both need to be treated (different medications) and I would recommend getting to a doctor immediately. If your current doctor isn't treating, I would get a second opinion. I don't know where you live, but I bet someone on this board or at the MAGIC Foundation (www.magicifoundation.org) could recommend one to you. Please feel free to e-mail me at mzgrappo@rmc.com. If you want to talk to someone, e-mail me with your phone number and I will be happy to give you a call. It's always good to know someone who has experienced this already.Kay
