The Injecto-vile vs. the Inject-ease

Down the Board, several people were asking about the injecto-vile and the Inject-ease.

The injecto-vile is just a form of solu-cortef, that comes with diluent and powder in 2 separate chambers in the same vial. Other times, Solucortef comes only with the powder and you have to add diluent separately, to mix the two. With either form, you'd have to draw out the mixed solution into a hypodermic needle for injection.

The Inject-ease is a plastic pen device that is used to make shot-giving much easier and less intimidating. You stick the filled hypodermic needle into this holder, snap everything in place, press against the skin, and with the "click of a Bic," it shoots the medicine into the skin. You never even see the needle. You can get this device over-the-counter. Most pharmacies may not have it in stock; just ask them to order it for you. Sorry, but I have no idea how much it costs. We were given one as a freebie for a different purpose, but I definitely plan to use it if, and when, I ever need to give my son a shot of solu-cortef.

P. S.  The Inject-ease is made by Eli Lilly.  There may be similar devices made by other companies that go under a different name.
