My daughter had her Cortef doubled for about a day and a half for a cystoscopy last week. I remember reading somewhere on the board that after the "stress" has passed and you no longer need to stress dose you should gradually bring the dose down to the regular dosage. I believe I read that some adult CAH'ers said that they felt crummy if the dosage was NOT brought down gradually. I graduated it down but was uncertain how to. My daughter's moods were quite off for a couple of days. I wondered if I should have graduated it down slower or if it was just a side effect of having so much coritsone in her system for those two days. Mind you during the procedure they gave her cortisone in her I.V. and continued her regular meds. as scheduled but doubled them. Any suggestions on how to graduate the dose? Has anyone done this before?Laura
