DebbieMy husband is self-employed and we are trying to switch health insurance carriers as our current policy offers few benefits and ever-rising premiums. Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Georgia has a better policy to offer us, but has sent us a waiver form stating that our daughter who has CAH will not be covered for 3 years for her CAH as a pre-existing condition. Has anyone had experience switiching insurance carriers with a CAH child? Is the 3 year CAH exclusion fairly standard procedure? I didn't know if we would have any basis for "appealing" this decision (other than we think it is just unfair, etc.). Before we sign and mail in the waiver acceptance letter, I wanted to get some opinions. Any comments or ideas are appreciated! Thanks.
