We are in the same situation you are in with being self employed I have found out that if you have proof from your other insurance company that they covered your daughter the new insurance has to accept her and waive the waiting period. That is how it is in Iowa and most states anyway. I have some quotes from blue cross blue shield also and in the book they gave me they have a section about pre- excisting conditons and waiting period. Sorry I could not help you out anymore as to we are in the same boat trying to find decent coverage also. I however have decided against blue cross of Iowa. Good Luck!!!!
