DebbieAfter doing some research I have confirmed that laws, such as Hippa, do not apply to individual policies, only to group policies. It basically leaves those self-employed "out in the cold", although I understand how small businesses could possibly have a hard time providing certain benefits to employees, as Cindy mentioned. BC/BS of GA says they have a standard one to five year exclusion on all pre-existing conditions. (I think the representative thought this would make me feel happy that CAH is considered "only" a three year exclusion!) They offer no appeals on their decisions. So, we will pray the next three years pass without significant illnesses related to CAH! Thanks, everyone, for your responses.
