LisaHello everyone! I have a 7-month old daughter with salt-wasting CAH. On Monday, Feb. 5th, she will be having her surgery. She is having a vaginoplasty, and clitoral reduction. It was a very hard decision to make, but I know we are doing the right thing for her. Laura, I don't know if you remember talking to me a couple of months back, but you really helped me and I just wanted to thank you for that.
I am not so worried about the surgery itself, (yes, I am) but I think I am more worried that she will not receive the right amount of her meds. before they start the surgery. I am really freaking out about that, and I don't know why. I know the doctors will take good care of her and everything will be just fine, but I just can't stop worrying. The surgeon said it should take about 5 hours, give or take. She will probably be in the hospital for 3-4 days.
I just want to thank everyone for always being there and answering any questions that I post. Everyone is so helpful and so supportive. I don't know what I would do without this message board, I thank God everyday that I have found it, and Danny also. If everyone could just give us a little prayer on the day of the surgery, I would be most grateful. Thank you!!
