I'm a middle school teacher and I do disagree with writing a note that is untrue. It's not only that, but you are teaching your child that it is OK to lie. If you decided it was OK for him to stay home, just say that. If he rarely misses school, then your decision to let him stay home is your business. If he misses a lot of school, it's the school's business. I have CAH too, but it's not an excuse. It's hard enough to get folks to take this condition seriously.
