Thanks to both of you for your response.  I hope I am not offending anyone by my questions.  I just do not understand how a doctor who recommends clitoral reduction would suddenly decide it is not needed during the surgery.  Guess I don't get where that judgement is coming from and why their opinion suddenly changed.  Does the shape of the labias change a lot during the surgery or something making it less necessary or something?  I am sure every child is different, it just seems I have heard of this happening more than once when the doctor decides during surgery that the reduction wasn't needed after all.  I guess I only wonder since my daughter was recomended for that surgery, and although we have opted not to do it, I wonder what would happen if we had opted to do it.  We are just hoping for now that she "grows into it" and that it won't cause her any pain or anything when she is older.

Thanks for listening.
