Bobbie I'm not sure what you mean by you don't FEEL your daughter was mutilated. Mutilated is a harsh work but that is what many of these women feel because they have lost the ability to have orgasm and some may feel pain. Many of these adults just wish that the choice would have been theirs. Maybe some people would rather give up orgasm to have more feminine appearance. And maybe some would opt for being able to have orgasm and live with their appearance. But they are the only ones who will know. As far as whether or not the surgery will spare nerves, I think Joan has highlighted that it is not known at this time. I never would have believed it if it had not happened to my own daughter. I am sorry if my "negative" statement bothers anyone. MY daughter didn't have the hundreds of other medical problems that so many cah children have. I consider us lucky and am never disturbed by reading about other parents problems. Joan has been VERY helpful to so many parents on this board. Maybe she is right about the lack of knowledge about the nerves by these doctors. They were wrong about my child. And she is a WONDERFUL person.Goldie
