Hello everyone, we just found out 2 weeks ago that my daughter who is 6mth old (3mths adjusted age as she was born 3 mths early) most likely has CAH. Her newborn screens came back fine and her pedi and endo were both surprised. The endo beleives it is a mild (non-salt wasting form), however, we are still awaiting the results of her ACTH test. The Dr. has started her on Cortef 2.5 3Xday. I am so scared for my presious daughter. Having been 3 mths early she spent 65 days in the NICU and has been thru so much already. I am just wondering what to expect and I'm very worried about possible side effect from the drug Cortef. She seems irritable since I started her on it yesterday. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. It is so comforting knowing this board is available with you all for advise and support. also, any question you can think of that i should ask the endo when I meet with her in 2 wks. would be appreciated.
