StefaanI can confirm your statement : we have a 15 mths old son, who was born with CAH, nearly died but saved at the very last minute.
This week is the first time that he got ill and got a severe crisis : started vomiting in the night, we doubted wether we would give an injection or not. We didn't. The morning after, Kristin - my wife - found him in bed in coma. A sugar level of 6 (normal is 100) caused the coma due to the fact that cortison would convert fat into sugar, but since he vomitted the night before, he was 100% sober...
Fortunately, he is OK, with hopefully no brain damage. The lesson we took was that in any case, it is better to anticipate the worst with a patient like Emile.
