I tried to e-mail you but the e-mail was returned as being wrong address.  E-mail me at cdchonka@msn.com and I will be happy to talk with you anytime.  My final thought on this subject is that there will always be debate on this subject which always stirs up intense emotions.  I do think the surgeries should be performed at an excellant teaching hospital with maybe a team of surgeons involved, the doctors should tell the parents how many of these procedures that they have done, I wouldn't want to be a doctor's first case.  I don't think that you are assigned a sex in any way having the surgery, I always get quite irked when CAH is referred as being intersexed because we are not, if you put a penis on a CAH girl she would not able to perform and vice versa.  If you don't have the surgery, sometimes what is there will not be functional in anyway.  Joan I wish you luck with meeting, I do hope you can come to peace with your situation and maybe Dr. New could establish guidelines that wouldn't allow any doctor to perform this type of surgery, only those meeting certain qualifications.
