Laura-Sorry to hear your daughter is sick.  Hopefully it's just a cold that will take it's course.  Probably the best suggestion is to call your endo or regular ped, saying your daughter was exposed to a case of walking pneumonia, and what does that mean for your daughter.  According to "The Doctor's book of home remedies for children", it talks about pneumonia resulting as a complication of bronchitis, which could have oringinally been a bacterial or viral infection.  Some of the symptoms to watch for with regular pneumonia are high fever, frequent coughing, trouble breathing, wheezing, lethargy and are definite signs for an ER visit.  This is obviously different from the "walking" variety and my book didn't say anything about that.  My endo's directions for me with a cold is to care for the cold as with any child.  She does not reccommend double Cortef unless there is a fever, triple if over 101.  In my daughter's case, the injection has never been needed unless she vomited or had diarrhea.  Some on this board however need to inject with a fever as well.  I think it depends on your child.  Usually what I do with a sore throat, is to double the Cortef at first.  If she does not develop a fever that day, I don't double the next day as long as she remains fever-free.  I do that just in case, since sometimes my daughter presents suddenly with a fever.  Good luck to you, try to get plenty of rest together and suggle!
