Ok, this afternoon my daughter went down hill. This morning she was playing and ok, still runny nose, no fever. She fell asleep around 2:30 which she has not taken a nap since her second birthday. (she is three and a half) I myself am sick with the same thing so I layed next to her on the floor and of course could not sleep and decided to watch her. I monitored her every 15 minutes to make sure no fever. All of a sudden I checked the next 15 min. and boom a fever of 102.6 eruppted. I had just given her afternoon dose of Cortef at 2:00 with a little more because I thought she looked a little peeked. It was now three thirty and she was in full fever. I woke her immediately to give Cortef and Motrin. I could get neither in her. She is so congested that as she was crying she was gagging. She was close to barfing. I called my pediatrician and said I was on my way. I tweaked out at that moment. I for the life of me could not find the Solu-Cortef. I found I was waisting time and threw her in the car in her panties and t-shirt, me in my pajamas. I flew to the ped. they immediatley took care of us. Needless to say she wound up taking a triple dose of Cortef I had in my purse at the doctors office. (I found the emergency bag in the car afterward I was so ticked to say the least. I now will have 2 emergency kits!!!!) They cultured her for strep and the flu. She has neither. She does have a virus. The doctor said it could be a virus that she has seen recently that makes them have a fever for three days!!!!!!!!!!!And a runny nose. She doesn't have pnemonia. SO with all that said I am asking that everyone that reads this message can say a prayer for my daughter to keep her fever low or gone for the next couple of days. I am scared to death. Reina's nightmare kept playing through my head a million miles per hour as I was going through this. I have not slept but a few hours. I don't have time to be sick. I am definately not going to sleep tonight. I am setting the clock for every 2 hours to check on her. Thanks for the ear. I must go shower while I have the time. I am getting my emergency stuff out now. Wish us luck and pray for my girl. THanks
