Welcome and congratulations on the birth of your baby boy!! My daughter is only 10 months old and it feels like yesterday that I was feeling so overwhelmed from all this. It does get easier. Giving her her meds is second nature now. It is definately still scary when she is sick but we just keep a very close eye on her. A good idea is to get a three ring binder and keep copies of all the info you find on CAH. Check out the medical attachments on this board. There are also sites that give step by step info on how to give the injection (with pics) and hospital staff info. Keep this folder as info for care givers and for your son when he gets older and you in scary situations. We have put emergency numbers, all info on her condition, consent forms and a list step by step of what to do in each situation. Example: In case of lethargy: (weakness, eyes rolling back in head, unresponsive, shaking etc.) 1. Give the injection of cortef --mgs. follow instructions. 2. Call 911 3. Call parent 4. Call pediatrician I have listed all circumstances I can think of. This way caregivers know exactly what to do. Good luck on your new adventure with your sweet blessing!! Ask any question on this board and you will get many responses!!
