first trip to the E.R
2/18/01 10:10 PM

Hi all,I was busy for awhile and did not have time for my computer. My 6 year old woke up today and vomited he was really lethargic and high fever,he is normally very good during flu season. So it was the first time this year he's been that ill,an hour went by and he vomited again I decided not to wait to see if he would hold down the oral med's and we drove straight to emerg. It was insane in there but they put us right through my son's endo clinic is ran out of the Children;s Hospital so my son is on file. However the nurses did not have a clue what CAH was the

emerg doctor spoke to the endo on call and was filled in what he needed, the doctor was great she was very quick moving and within 10 minutes of arrival he had his I.V in and then x-ray's and blood work.Within a few hours my son was up and moving around,I think I was going on adrenalin only when he was better did I realize how scared

I was. This board really helped me through this the knowledge I have gained truly made me be able to handle this crisis and take him in right away. For the hour I was waiting while we were home not sure if he needed to go all I kept thinking of were the post's of you all some are stories of triumph and others of tragedy,It gave me the ability to think clearly and realize that a wasted trip to the emergency room is far better than regretting that I did'nt go.My son is back to normal and I'm going to bed with a prayer of thank's.I hope all is well with everyone thank's for listening.Sorry for any typo's I'm sooo tired!!!!
