Lynn, Long lasting marks is often related to skin tone/color. Olivia, who is Chinese, will have a mark on her skin for a long time after the "wound" has healed. My sister has also noticed this with her two girls -- one who is Puerto Rican and the other is Caucasian/Mexican/African American.
