Heather RGeorgia is about to be four years old. She has Classical CAH . When She was bleeding she was bleeding vaginally. Like I said we decided it was because of the bicycle accident. She has had no effects whatsoever from the cah physically. She was diagnosed through newborn screening. Her primary reffered us to an endocrinologist specialist who is also the head of the pediatrics department and his credintials are very impressive. He is very knowledgable about cah. We feel very comfortable with him. Georgia has never been on any medications. Her endo does not feel like it would benifet her at all. Her 17ohp levels are just slightly abnormal and he just wants to keep and eye on it. but he is encouraging me to learn as much as I can and to continue to monitor her .Aysim, you mentioned that your son was on hydrocortisone for 2.5 years. What did the doctor say could be the possible side effects of that if any. What did they finally decide that your son had? Laura in answer to your question about the adrenal gland not working properly I don't know. That probably sounds silly. I just know that her 17ohp levels are slightly abnormal and that she is fine as far as physically goes. When she gets sick it is no diffrent than my other non cah child. Maybe this is why he has decided not to place her on any meds. I am not very concerned as of right now because everything seems so good. As long as she continues the way she has been for the last four years I don't feel like there is cause for concncern. Thank you for your concern and I don't mind the personal questions b/c it helps everyone to understand.
