concerned momTwo of my three children have salt-wasting CAH 21 hydroxylase deficiency. They are ages 6 and 9. Two years ago we secured life insurance for them. It is with Hartford. They are "rated" due to their CAH, and their premium is higher than my non-CAH child. However, we were able to get it and now they will always have it as long as we pay the premium. We were concerned that if we waited too long, we might have more problems. By the way, my one CAH child had some "asthsma-type" breathing problems as an infant, which have completely been resolved. He was initially rejected for insurance, not because of his CAH, but due to the history of reactive airway disease. We fought it and won, but his rate is even higher than my CAH daughter!. His rating will be reviewed again in two more years.
GOOD LUCK
