We have never had a problem getting insurance coverage for my son (knock wood). My husband was already with a company for several years when my son was born and they covered him with no questions asked. My husband switched jobs a couple of years ago and because he was a new employee they had open enrollment also with no problems obtaining the insurance. His company even recently changed insurance carriers and again we had no problems. I know that here there is something called a "life changing event" that makes the insurance companies cover you and your family due to the birth of a child, change of job and/or change of companies insurance carrier. The rates are the same as my daughter's (non-CAH). I remember when I went through invitro fertilization my company had just changed insurance carriers and they had a 3 month waiting period for a pre-existing condition. Once that was met they covered everything according to our plan of choice. I wish you all the best of luck in obtaining insurance for these beautiful little children. Please keep us posted.LynnT
