LizSorry it has taken me so long to update you on my visit to the pharmacist. Unfortunately, it seems the prescription I received for the Inject-ease would not be effective for an IM injection. What Carol posted was almost verbatim to what my pharmacist indicated. Inject-ease was really made for a diabetes patient. My pharmacist told me that by the time I figured out how to work it as well as prepare it and find the site to inject it, my kids would be well on their way to hysteria. He also indicated that once I "pulled the trigger", I would still have to push the plunger on the needle to make sure they were receiving the injection IM. He didn't think it would work and said it would be easier to perform it as I have been.... the dart throw approach.
I, like all of you absolutely detest giving the injections and thankfully both my kids have avoided the need for it this flu season. I know I will be faced with it again and am hoping that someone will come up with something. My pharmacist has promised to keep a heads up on anything that might do the trick.
Again, I am sorry for the delay in getting this info to you and sorry it wasn't the kind of news any of us wanted to hear. I'll keep you posted on what my pharmacist finds out.
Hi Carol! How's Ryan doing? Hope all is well. Bryan and Hayley are doing great (knock on wood)! Take care!
