For Olivia, I use a Bruan Thermoscan. I have been very happy with the results. It is QUICK and easy, plus Olivia knows to listen for the beep. She also is at the stage where she likes to "help" with everything -- she can easily help putting this in and out of the little case. I really like being able to keep her involved with her health care. When I first got it I practiced alot, using both ears with each practice. I wanted to make sure I could consistantly get a "normal" temperature. Whenever Olivia is sick, I still take it from both ears, just for a double check. Depending on the fever, I have been know to take it every 30 minutes to check and see if the advil is having any effect.
