I am new to the board, and would appreciate any help I can get. My daughter is CAH salt losing. She is 13 years old. She was on cortef for 12 years and did great. This past year when she started her menstrual cycle she was switched to dexamethasone. Since then she has been very unstable (8 e.r. visits in 9 months). also, she is urinating a lot, and is very tired. Her stomach is constantly upset (nausea, diarrhea), and swells about two to three times a month. She started on dex at .5 mg and is now on .175 which her dr. says really should not be enough. But she still shows as recieving too much. She has also gained 80 lbs in the past year.The dr swears it is not her dex, but needless to say, I am worried sick. Has anyone else dealt with similar problems with this drug?
