Barbara, I have CAH (non-saltwaster) and had something similar happen to me two years ago (granted I was 39 at the time) - anyway, when you mentioned dark around the eyes that was me. My eyes had really dark circles and even make-up couldn't cover them. I felt really tired, put on weight and raised my dose of Dex because I thought I wasn't getting enough steroids. It turned out that I was very hypothyroid. I was put on Levoxyl (a really low dose) and it did the trick. I was very ill (in fact backed into a car at work - I was so out of it) I was so sick that my aunt had to come stay with me for a week because I could barely function - we talked about a will for me because I honestly thought I might not make it. The one thing that I had that was weird was that I felt like I had an electrical current going through my arms and legs and I felt really shaky - that was really strange. As soon as I got on medication the feeling left.  A lot of we gals that are older with CAH or LOCAH have thyroid problems - in fact the majority of us do. Maybe that's your daughter's problem? Has she been checked?
