Re: Re: labels and CAH: We Are What We Are

I should probably leave this alone but after not coming on to the message board since about last June for just this kind of frustration I just can't leave without venting a little bit.

I am curious where anyone would like to classify my daughter. She has CAH, salt-wasting. She was blessed to NOT have any forms of ambigious genetalia. So, all you open-minded people who embrace the term "intersex", where does my daughter fit in? I am so sick of worrying about someone like you confusing my daughter about who she is. I feel like having to always be concerned about the health issues is plenty to have to deal with. So, please spare me your holier-than-thou attitude. I am a great mom and I love my kids so much that I would do anything for them. If you think that protecting my chidren from your form of tolerence is being a poor parent than that is also your opinion, but that doesn't mean I have to value it. There is a song that I like and it has a line it that I really appreciate: "You're so open-minded that your brain leaks out". I refuse to be that way.
