If you are interested in this direction, Lynn, you might want to consider an establishing an Endowment Fund, which can be administered by anyone you choose, and can be modified at your discretion (we had an Endowment Fund set up when Joshua died. With the almost $20,000 in there, we help 3-4 families with sick children every year - it's very exciting and rewarding!). With this type of fund, you (or anyone) can also add to the principle - donations, etc. - at any time, so the fund can keep growing, too. Being the great mom that I know you are, I'm sure that you've spoken to him about his feelings regarding having his condition become public knowledge in your town. Even though he is young, I'm sure he will have an opinion about the whole matter.
