Great Ideas

Well, I have already sent an email for Kelly Leight and await her response. Dr. New seems to be up to her eyeballs in her current projects so I don't know about her. I will have to speak with my friend again and run some of these ideas past her, but in the meantime, keep those ideas coming. Wendy-Lee, Yes, I had asked Ryan how he felt before I even considered it. He said if it would help he was O.K. with it. As far as him being overweight, I don't know if I had mentioned it somewhere in the past but he is actually looking pretty good and is within his range for his age group. He also said that if he could meet other kids that had to wear a "special bracelet" like he does he would be happy to meet them. It was so funny, last week Ryan had to go in for a 2 hour blood draw. It was in the children's wing at Yale. It's a very nice set up and had lots of videos and activities for the kids to pass the time. Another child walked by and waved to Ryan. Ryan whispered to me "hey Mom, that kid has CAH too". I said "how do you know that?" He said " because she has the same bracelet as me". I thought it was pretty cute that he thought anyone who had the MedAlert bracelet on had CAH. I did take the opportunity to explain the reality of it all to him but he still felt that he had bonded in some way with this other child. He sat down next to her and they began playing Candyland together. It was a beautiful thing to behold AND it sure helped the two hours seem to pass more quickly.
