Just wanted to update everyone on the Missouri newborn screening. The progress of this bill was amazing. I am unsure if similar bills have been introduced in the past or not. But here is a brief summary of what happend: Summary of the Truly Agreed Version of the Bill HCS HB 279 -- SCREENING OF NEWBORNS This bill requires the Department of Health by January 1, 2002, to expand the newborn screening requirements of Section 191.331, RSMo, by including screening for various potentially treatable disorders, including cystic fibrosis, galactosemia, and congenital adrenal hyperplasia.
