Your brother is sooooooooooooo lucky to have a caring sister like you. I just know, with your help, he will find an answer to all his health problems. I can't believe all the meds they put him through and wouldn't even consider a simple (relatively speaking) blood test! It's good of you to stay on top of it with him as you know how uncontrolled CAH can make you feel. He's probably sick and tired of being sick and tired!! At this point, you're both probably hoping that it IS CAH so he can begin the proper testing and meds immediately!!! You sound like a wonderful person, compassionate and empathetic....everything a brother could need. I have said a prayer for both of you to find your way to an answer for Tom and to give you the strength to stay with it even if he wants to give up. You're lucky in that these days there are numerous articles and informative packets (Laura, how's that going anyway?) out there to refer to. It wasn't so long ago that CAH was still a mystery to most docs. Even today we find that sometimes we know more about certain things than they do. Give him Danette's Message Board URL and let him scan through some of the types of complaints they have posted about. There is still much he needs to learn. Susan, there are some of us on this board who do believe that even carriers can exhibit some of the very same symptoms as a person with CAH. Anxiety and panic attacks are among the top of the "shopping list" followed by fatigue, infertility, excess sweating, strong body odor and constant head aches. Still, to date, no one has taken us seriously enough to do anything about it. I have been tempted to try my son's Cortef out on a few occassions. I know that there is some kind of imbalance going on because when I was taking infertility shots before I underwent invetro(sp) fertilization, everyone told me that a certain hormone shot that they were going to give me was going to make me feel miserable. Well, when that time came I actually felt "normal" for the first time in a long time. I don't blame you for sharing your meds with your brother. In this case, I think it was a very loving thing to do. Please keep in touch and let us know how it goes. God bless you and your brother. Lynn I wish you wellLynnT
