ShaunP.For CAH to be a disease you would have to have started with a completely healthy adrenal cortex which was then damaged due to infection or other outside factor. However, once the infection or outside factor disappeared but left the organ damaged it is then termed a disorder. Addisons is more often termed a disease because it is auto-immune and can continue attacking different glands throughtout the remainder of the suffers life. The body never returns to a state without the immune system totally cured from attacking itself and is ongoing.
Geneticor congenital disorder is the best discription because that is where the disturbance to the cortex took place and not from other outside factors damaging a healthy adrenal cortex. Since there are multiple symptoms associated with CAH it would probably also be correct to discribe CAH as a syndrome.
Depending on who I am talking to I discribe Liam's condition as a genetic or congenital disorder.
